Who We Are

Mission Statement

Our mission is to center human and ecological health in environmental design through innovation in design, research, education, and biotechnology.

What We Do & Why We Do It

We are redefining the role of the built environment as a health-generating system.

Emerging research shows that the body and environment form a unified entity as understood by the brain, with multisensory perception playing a vital role in how we interact with spaces. While you perceive 11 million bits of information per second, only 50 bits are consciously registered, highlighting the profound subconscious impact the built environment has on our health and well-being.

We bring this vision to life through five integrated divisions:

  • Biotecture Inc. Architects – advancing regenerative design that prioritizes health, equity, and ecological balance.

  • Biotecture Inc. Innovation Labs – developing biotechnologies and tools that translate cutting-edge research into practical solutions.

  • Biotecture Inc. Futures – exploring emerging trends and systems to prepare communities for resilient, sustainable ways of living through our strategic foresight studio.

  • Biotecture Inc. Foundation – driving education, equity, and access to health-centered design on a global scale.

  • Biotecture Inc. Development Group – demonstrating how real estate can generate value while building environments that actively support well-being.

Our approach is rooted in science and systems thinking. Research shows the brain experiences the body and environment as a unified whole, with subconscious multisensory processing shaping how we feel, think, and behave. This means every design choice — from materials to light to spatial flow — influences health outcomes in measurable ways. Too often, design defaults to standards that perpetuate stress, disconnection, and illness. We refuse to accept that as inevitable.

Biotecture Inc. exists to prove that better is possible. By uniting architecture, biotechnology, education, and futures thinking under one organization, we are creating environments that foster vitality, empower communities, and help shape an equitable, health-conscious world.

Our Values

These values guide our daily work and show up in everything we do toward achieving our mission.

Sustainability: Protecting the planet and communities, and fostering resilience.

Compassion: Our work is driven by empathy and a deep commitment to improving quality of life.

Empowerment: Educating and enabling individuals and communities through accessible design.

Walking the Talk

  • Pay parity: We’ve taken Unbounce’s Pay Up for Progress Pledge to ensure fair and transparent compensation across all roles.

  • Inclusive spaces: We are actively working toward the Rainbow Registered Accreditation Program for 2SLGBTQI+ Friendly Spaces through Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC).

  • Diversity at the top: Through the Government of Canada’s 50-30 Challenge, we commit to gender parity (50%) and significant representation (30%) of equity-deserving groups on boards and senior management.

These actions are part of our ongoing commitment to create environments which empower everyone to thrive.
